If you are from Philly or not you will enjoy what the Philly Junction has to offer you for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Located on Summerlin Rd near Colonial Blvd. in the Publix shopping center since 2000 one can get a “Taste of Philly”. They feature cheese steak sandwiches, hoagies, pork roll, scrapple, and so much more.
If you are from Philly you will enjoy the décor. For those of us who are not it serves as a pleasant backdrop during your meal. Overall the atmosphere is casual but we noticed many business people having their lunch meeting there as well as local diners and visitors to our area. This told us it has mass appeal.
We visited Philly Junction for lunch and found they have a large menu with a plethora of choices. Besides authentic Philly Cheese Steaks they offer hoagies, burgers, salads, hot and cold sandwiches, Ruben’s, French Dip and so on. However what else would someone order in a sandwich shop that offers authentic Philly Cheese Steaks???? They have plenty of choices for extra’s to top your cheese steak with.
The prices ($6.50 - $7.50) are a bit high considering they do not come accompanied by fries. The portion size is large though and there is plenty of Philly steak. Some may find they only can complete ½ of the sandwich but if you have a hearty appetite you will find the cheese steak very ample. As for the taste it is very flavorful and one of our companions stated as “close to authentic you will find in SWFL.”
The service is friendly and prompt and they kept our drinks refilled. When dining in a locally owned restaurant it is nice to have a place where you are made to feel welcome and at home and the Philly Junction succeed in doing just this.
If you have not tried the Philly Junction and you are looking for a great place to have a sandwich we would recommend you give them a try. Supporting our locally owned establishments helps our local economy to prosper.
